According to officials, a Mexican woman lost her life over the weekend after a shark bit her leg.
According to Rafael Araiza, the director of the local civil defense office, the incident occurred on Saturday not far from the Melaque beach, which is located just west of Manzanillo’s seaport.
About 75 feet offshore, the 26-year-old mother and her 5-year-old daughter were swimming toward a floating play platform when the shark bit her, Araiza said, as reported by the Associated Press.
